FM Area Foundation Welcomes Three New Board Members

Katrina Turman Lang, Gary Nolte and Toni Sandin have joined the Board of Directors of the FM Area Foundation.
"We are honored to have a Board of Directors comprised of talented and knowledgeable individuals who are dedicated to supporting the community," said Tim Beaton, Executive Director. "Katrina, Gary and Toni all bring unique perspectives that will help encourage philanthropy in our area."
About Katrina Turman Lang
Katrina Turman Lang is an attorney with Turman & Lang, Ltd. Katrina focuses her practice in the areas of commercial transactions and litigation, debtor/creditor rights, and estate planning.
In addition to the FM Area Foundation, Katrina presently serves as Vice President of the Board of the Boys & Girls Club of the Red River Valley. Her past community volunteer work includes serving as a board member for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Red River Valley, a member of the Junior League of Fargo-Moorhead, and the Women’s Fund Committee of the FM Area Foundation.
Katrina lives with her husband and three sons in Fargo.
About Gary Nolte
Gary Nolte, a retired stock broker, graduated from MSUM in 1972 with a degree in mass communications. He was a member of the MSUM Alumni Board for six years, including three years as secretary and six years on the finance committee. He is a member of Rotary International, and has served Rotary in many leadership positions, including president of the Moorhead Rotary Club, District Governor of International District 5580, and leadership positions in the International Rotary Zone.
He, and his wife, Cindy, a public health nurse, have served on medical and construction missions in Honduras, Nicaragua, and Haiti. He has also served on Rotary polio eradication missions in Ghana, Niger, and Nigeria in Africa and also in India. Gary also served on hurricane relief missions to New Orleans and Honduras.
Locally, Gary has served as a crew leader for Habitat for Humanity and is a founding board member for HERO, a nonprofit that collects and distributes donated healthcare supplies to those in need. Gary received the award for a Polio Free World in 2006, and he and Cindy were named Distinguished Dragons in 2008 for their service as ambassadors of international service.
Gary is a retired Chief Petty Officer with the Navel Reserves, having served 21 years including two tours of duty to Vietnam.
Gary and Cindy have two birth children and five Vietnamese foster children.
About Toni Sandin
Toni Sandin is the owner and founder of Sandin Law and is licensed to practice law in North Dakota, Minnesota, and Arizona. She graduated with distinction in 2005 from the University of North Dakota School of Law and is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), having received her CPA designation in 2002.
While attending law school at UND, Toni was a member of the North Dakota Law Review, an Extern with the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota, and worked as a law clerk in the Grand Forks State's Attorney's Office. She spent five years as an Associate Attorney with Dorsey & Whitney in Fargo, North Dakota in their corporate and estate planning practice groups prior to opening Sandin Law in September of 2009, and from 2015-2018, she joined Gray Plant Mooty managing the Fargo's Trust, Estate and Charitable Planning group
Toni is a native of Fargo and loves working in, living in, and giving back to her local community. Toni serves as a board member for the Red River Valley Estate Planning Council, the Sanford Foundation, and the Village Family Services Foundation. She also serves on the finance council to her parish, Sts. Anne & Joachim Catholic Church. In the past, Toni has served on the board of directors for the North Dakota Autism Center, co-chaired the Signature Chef event for the March of Dimes, and supports many different charities in her community, including the Jeremiah Program, the United Way, Habitat for Humanity, and Churches United for the Homeless.
Toni enjoys spending time with her husband, four children and their miniature poodle.
