For more than 55 years, the FM Area Foundation has partnered with individuals, families, businesses and nonprofits to create a variety of funds to support our community. Today, we manage more than 300 funds, some with specific purposes, and others that support the community’s greatest needs.
Aakre Reiser Scholarship Fund Scholarship Fund
Established: Dec 07, 2016 A scholarship fund to provide annually two, $1,000 scholarships for one male and one female student graduating from Barnesville High School.
Aam-Steinke Scholarship Fund Scholarship Fund
Established: Jan 01, 1991 This fund was created to give scholarships to three students at Midkota High School who plan to continue their education after graduating.
Abiding Bronze Star Fund Fiscal Sponsorship
Established: Dec 29, 2015 A fiscal sponsorship set up to support Abiding Bronze Star during their application process for their 501(c)(3) nonprofit designation. The purpose of the fund is to assist veterans who are attempting to obtain the honor and recognition they earned in the armed forces but never received.
Admiral Robert Baldwin Award Scholarship Fund
Established: Sep 21, 1990 This scholarship was established as a tribute to Admiral Robert Baldwin, a graduate of Fargo Public Schools, to recognize high school seniors in the Fargo school system who have demonstrated leadership and academic excellence.
Alerus Financial Fund Donor Advised Fund
Established: Mar 14, 2006 This fund was created by Alerus as part of its "Connect to the Community" program.
Alerus Financial Scholarship Fund Scholarship Fund
Established: Jan 30, 2008 This fund was created by Alerus to provide annual scholarships to help pay for the higher education expenses of high school students from the region served by Alerus Financial.
American Gold Gymnastics Legacy Fund Agency Fund
American Legion Youth Fund Donor Advised Fund
Established: Dec 31, 1979 This fund was created by the members of the American Legion Gilbert C. Grafton Post No. 2, for the purpose of providing income to the furtherance, establishment, improvement and support of programs designed for the education, recreation and betterment of youth in the city of Fargo, N.D.
Amphion Award Designated Fund
Established: Sep 20, 1963 Created by members of the former Amphion Chorus, a nationally acclaimed men's classical chorus, to recognize high school students who have musical talent. The Amphion was a group of 100 local men who performed throughout the Midwest, at the Chicago World's Fair in 1933, and in Carnegie Hall. The fund started with the proceeds from the sale of their grand piano.
Amy & William R. Layne Scholarship Fund Scholarship Fund
Established: Oct 29, 2010 Provides undergraduate scholarships for students enrolled in the College of Engineering at NDSU.
Anne Wesner Swanson Donor Advised Fund Donor Advised Fund
Established: Jul 13, 2015 A donor advised fund set up by Anne Wesner Swanson to support charities advised by the donors.
Anonymous Fund 1 Designated Fund
Established: May 25, 1990 This fund was established to support Hospice of the Red River Valley for capital improvements.
Anonymous Fund 2 Field of Interest Fund
Established: Apr 30, 1991 Established to be used for such charitable purposes as the Fargo-Moorhead Area Foundation shall determine with particular emphasis on programs for the homeless, disadvantaged and the rehabilitation of children and adults.
Anonymous Fund 3 Donor Advised Fund
Established: Dec 28, 2007 This fund was established to be able make significant and immediate charitable impact within the community.
Anonymous Fund 4 Donor Advised Fund
Established: Jan 01, 0001 This advised fund supports a wide variety of charitable interests as recommended by the donors.
Art and Mildred Glasow Fund Designated Fund
Established: Jan 15, 2001 Art Glasow, a farmer in Cass County for many years, established this fund through a planned gift to support the Moravian Church in Durbin, N.D. Art Glasow passed away in November of 2005.
Art at the Rourke Museum Endowment Fund Agency Fund
Arthur W. and Clara Cupler Fund Scholarship Fund
Established: Nov 14, 1960 Arthur & Clara Cupler were both instrumental in developing the Fargo-Moorhead Area Foundation. Clara was made an honorary member of the Foundation's board as a result of her tireless work to promote FMAF. The fund in their name is the oldest and largest fund of the Foundation. It has provided scholarships for hundreds of students from area universities.
