Fargo-Moorhead Coalition for Homeless Persons Receives Grant for Housing Solutions Project

The FM Coalition for Homeless Persons works in partnership to achieve permanent solutions to prevent, reduce and end homelessness.

A grant for $11,726 provided support of the Housing Solutions Project. This program builds on the Coordinated Assessment, Referral and Evaluation Systems (CARES) project by providing housing navigation, relationship building, and support services to men and women with significant barriers to securing rental housing and long histories of homelessness.

In the grant period, the FM Coalition for Homeless Persons served 396 service providers and community members with education on the assessment tools, prevention strategies, issues of and de-escalation tools for mental and behavioral health challenges, housing navigation best practices, and other homeless services best practices. The grant also covered about 164 hours spent by the CARES Project Coordinator who facilitated and worked with the United Way of Cass Clay and a team of service providers to design the Housing Navigation program.
