Rebuilding Together Receives Grant for Repairing Homes and Improving Lives

Rebuilding Together transforms the lives of low-income homeowners by improving the safety and health of their homes and revitalizing our community.

A retired 27 year National Guard veteran of Fargo completed an application with Rebuilding Together in February of 2015. His social security and pension benefits barely cover his monthly living expenses leaving him little extra to repair his home of 46 years. Although his North Fargo home is sound, it was in need of many costly repairs.

The home’s leaking roof was determined to be the highest health and safety priority by Rebuilding Together’s home selection committee. With generous support from the Fargo-Moorhead community and many volunteers this roof was one of two replaced by Rebuilding Together in 2015.

The funds received though the grant directly supported material and labor costs for projects like this.
