Our Scholarships

Our scholarship funds provide financial assistance to students working to reach their fullest potential through education and training.

The FM Area Foundation manages more than 50 scholarship funds. These funds were created by generous donors to provide financial assistance for students pursuing higher education and training. For the 2018-19 academic year, we awarded $283,271 to deserving students!

Some of the scholarships you’ll find below are awarded to students from a certain high school, while others are awarded to students going into specific areas of study, such as nursing or engineering. Each scholarship has its own set of eligibility requirements. To see if you may be eligible for a scholarship, please search the list below. 

  • Hayden Thomas Nelson Scholarship Fund

    Eligible for a graduating senior from Pelican Rapids High School who has a passion for and has participated in speech, music and/or theater arts.

    No GPA requirement or an intent to attend college.

    Scholarship award is administered by Pelican Rapids High School.

    Scholarship is administered by Valley City State University.

  • Jill and Jeff Berg Scholarship

    Application Deadline: April 19, 2019 

    Applicant must be a graduating Senior at Barnesville High School. 

    Please Note: This award is paid at the beginning of the student's second semester.

  • Jill and Jeff Berg University Scholarships

    The Jill and Jeff Berg Scholarship Fund offers three scholarships at local Universities. If you are interested in applying please reach out directly to the University Department/Program for additional details on applying. 

    NDSU- Agriculture Economics Program 

    Concordia College- Offut School of Business Program 

    UND School of Medicine- Doctor of Physical Therapy Program 

  • Kathryn P. Bond Charitable Fund

    Application Deadline: April 19, 2019

    Scholarship designated for graduate level students studying in the fields of medicine, social service or political science.

    Applicant must be from Cass County, North Dakota, or Clay County, Minnesota.

    Undergraduate academic achievement will be considered.
