FM Area Foundation Receives $1 Million In Grant Requests

Arts, culture and creativity: $25,500 to 11 charitable organizations
Basic human needs: $110,278 to 22 charitable organizations
Community building: $63,226 to 12 charitable organizations
Education: $37,500 to 11 charitable organizations

The FM Area Foundation’s Women’s Fund received more than $50,000 in grant requests through the grant round, and awarded a total of $29,000 to the following six organizations.

  • FM Opera for “Conductor Training Initiative for Young Women”
  • Immigrant Development Center for “Entrepreneurial Training”
  • Latter Rain Ministries for “P’s & Q’s Etiquette and Leadership”
  • North Dakota Women’s Network for “Stepping Forward-Ready to Run”
  • Plains Art Museum for “Mothers of Invention-Catherine Mulligan”
  • Tri-College University for “NEW Leadership Development Institute”

In addition to the community and Women’s Fund grant rounds, the FM Area Foundation provides support to charitable organizations through more than 250 donor advised funds, designated funds, scholarship funds, agency funds, field of interest funds and non-endowed funds. On average, the FM Area Foundation grants $2 million each year back into the community.
