Foundation Launches Learning Series for Nonprofits

The FM Area Foundation recently kicked off a new learning series to provide professional development opportunities for local nonprofits. The series offers a wide variety of topic areas relevant to the nonprofit sector. There will be trainings on marketing and social media, fundraising, human resources, finance and more.

“The series began in response to the many requests we receive from our grantees in regards to the need for more affordable, local and high quality nonprofit-specific trainings in our area,” said Lexi Oestreich, Program Officer at the FM Area Foundation.

The first session was Tuesday, May 22, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the FM Area Foundation (409 7th St. S, Fargo, ND, 58103) with “Take Back Your Life: Outlook Email Productivity 101” presented by Kayla Gefroh, of Purpose Learning Group. “The Social Stir: Refresh Your Social Media with New Ideas Every Month” presented by Kirsten Jensen of Next Action Digital is the second session and will take place Thursday, May 24 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Trainings will be about two hours long and cost $25.

The Foundation has been working with local consultants to develop the training topics and present them throughout the year.

“We’ve launched the trainings for May and June, and we’ll continue to update our website with new training opportunities,” said Oestreich.
