Sher Thomsen Joins Board of Directors

The FM Area Foundation is pleased to announce Sher Thomsen has joined its Board of Directors.

Thomsen is the co-owner and executive advisor for Black Arbor Capital. She served as president for the United Way of Cass-Clay from 2011 to 2016, where she led a strategic shift in the organization’s investment strategy and evolved their business model. Thomsen has spent the last 20 years in leadership roles across the nonprofit sector.

“We are so glad to have Sher Thomsen join the FM Area Foundation Board of Directors. Sher’s understanding of our nonprofit ecosystem, her experience leading organizations in our community, and her passion for charitable causes will be a major asset to our organization,” said Eric Wilkie, Executive Director of the FM Area Foundation. 

Thomsen serves as Board of Regents Chair and Executive Committee member for Oak Grove Lutheran Schools and volunteers for several organizations. Sher and her husband, Joel, live in Fargo with their two sons and two French bulldogs.
