The FM Area Foundation was honored to attend the ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony for the new America 250 Mural on the VFW building in downtown Fargo.
Created in recognition of America’s upcoming 250th anniversary, the mural serves as a lasting tribute to our nation, the veterans who have served it, and the values that continue to unite our communities. The project brings together history, patriotism and public art to create a meaningful landmark for residents and visitors alike.
The FM Area Foundation proudly supported the project with a $5,000 sponsorship. Executive Director, Eric Wilkie, joined community leaders and project partners in celebrating the mural during the dedication ceremony, recognizing the collaborative effort that made the project possible.
“We’re proud to support projects that strengthen our community and create places where people can gather, reflect and connect,” said Wilkie. “This mural honors the service and sacrifice of our veterans while celebrating our nation’s history in a way that will inspire future generations.”
The FM Area Foundation awards grants to organizations and projects working in the areas of community building and arts, culture and creativity totaling about $2 million a year.
The Foundation extends its gratitude to Folkways, VFW Post 762, the artists, donors, and community partners who helped bring the project to life. Together, they have created a mural that will stand as a symbol of gratitude, community pride, and the enduring spirit of those who have served our country.
