Foundation Awards Grants to Local Organizations

The FM Area Foundation has awarded $711,905 in community grants to 101 nonprofit organizations serving Cass County, N.D., and Clay County, Minn.

Through its annual competitive grant program, the Foundation connects charitable resources with community needs by investing in local nonprofits that are creating lasting impact throughout the region. Nonprofit organizations apply for funding, and proposals are reviewed by a volunteer grants committee comprised of community members, FM Area Foundation board members and staff.

These grants are made possible by generous donors who chose to give through unrestricted and field-of-interest funds, trusting the community foundation to invest their gifts where they can make the greatest impact each year.

This year’s grants will support organizations advancing important work in the areas of arts, culture and creativity; basic human needs; community building; education; and women and children. By providing general operating support, the Foundation gives nonprofits the flexibility to direct funding where it is needed most to strengthen programs, respond to emerging needs and advance their missions.
